Who we are
Clipr (“we”, “us”) operates the website at clipr.localhost and distributes a desktop application that helps customers download, subtitle, translate, reformat, and publish video in accordance with their own licenses and platform policies.
What this site collects
This static marketing site does not set first-party analytics cookies. When PUBLIC_ANALYTICS_ENABLED is true in
deployment, we load Plausible Analytics from plausible.io, which is configured for aggregate page metrics without cross-site profiling. We do not use that channel to sell personal
data or to build individual behavioral dossiers.
Contact and identifiers you send us
If you email [email protected] or use newsletter mailto links, we receive whatever you place in the message. We use that information only to respond or to fulfill the request you initiated.
Desktop application data
The Clipr desktop client may process URLs, media files, subtitles, and authentication state that you deliberately import. Device binding and license checks require a stable device identifier so Free, Pro, and Team limits remain enforceable. We describe the exact categories, retention, and subprocessors in the installer’s privacy addendum and release notes; this page summarizes high-level expectations only.
Server-managed vendor AI processing
When your workspace uses an existing AI vendor contract for subtitles or translation, the desktop app sends audio and text to Clipr’s authenticated backend, and that backend routes model requests to the configured provider. Cloud provider keys stay server-side so usage can be metered and audited. Those flows are governed by your agreement with that vendor and our backend processing terms. We recommend documenting which models, regions, and retention policies apply in regulated environments.
Bundled cloud AI credits
If you use Clipr-managed inference instead of BYOK, we process the minimum audio and text required to return subtitles or translations. Operational logs may include job identifiers, error codes, and coarse usage metering so we can bill AI credits and diagnose outages. We do not use that telemetry for advertising personalization.
Children
Our services are aimed at professional creators and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under sixteen through this marketing site.
International transfers
Plausible and any future payment processors may process data in the United States or other regions they disclose. The desktop product’s AI vendors may likewise operate globally. We rely on vendor DPAs and, where required, standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact [email protected] with your jurisdiction and request type. We may need to verify ownership of the relevant account or device before fulfilling sensitive requests.
Changes
We will update this page when practices materially change. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy unless a stricter regime applies in your region.
